Hardcore/hardrock injected punk rock is Homer’s trademark for years, aggressive hardcore and punk rock tunes mixed with melancholic parts. It is this unique mix together with Johan’s voice and the socio-political lyrics that make Homer stand out in today’s punk rock scene. Homer is walking this path for years now and ‘Wasteland Reflections’ is another great chapter in their existence.
The opening track ‘Here’s the action’ sounds very promising, it sometimes has a howling mad rock’n’roll vibe in de vocals (Murdocks style).With ‘Long gone dreams’ you hear the typical Homer/Johan Q sound.
‘Wasteland Reflections’ is a typical Homer album but it is probably the most divers album up till now due to the diversity in vocals (lead & backing) and due to some more complex song structures. 8.5/10
