Face To Face – Laugh Now, Laugh Later
CD 2011 People Like You Records
Face To Face formed in 1991 and are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. Is their a better way to celebrate this with a new record? I don’t think so. The fans will be excited, its been 9 years since their previous release ‘How to Ruin Everything’ (2002) and to be honest ‘Laugh Now, Laugh Later’ is worth the wait.
‘Laugh Now, Laugh Later’ has a nineties punk rock vibe, with overall mid tempo danceable and melodic pop punk songs. The band has aged but they still know how to make a decent and quality punk rock album full of passion and energy. The album starts strong with ‘Should Anything Go Wrong’ and ‘It’s Not All About You’ becomes better with songs as ‘Bombs Away’ and ‘Blood in the Water’. They are slowing down here and their but that doesn’t make it a bad record on the contrary.
Maybe not everybody will agree with me but in my opinion ‘Laugh Now, Laugh Later’ is a pop punk record for dummies, a good example for starting pop punk bands to how to make a quality pop punk record. ‘Laugh Now, Laugh Later’ is a really nice record to pass the summer. 8.5/10
