REVIEW: Wolves – Cycles

Wolves – Cycles

EP 2012 DIY

Wolves are a four piece band, formed in 2010, from North Wales, UK. After releasing their first EP in February, they recently released a new EP called Cycles.

Cycles is an overall furious EP with an aggressive throat grabbing sound and a bit of a desperate groove. In a way it reminds me of bands like Modern Life Is War. Compared with MLIW, ‘Wolves’ is not as dark and desperate. Also they do not have that monotone sound, which is great. There are some more sludge and doom alike parts, some tempo changes and clean vocal which create diversity in sound and distinguish themselves from the masses.

The EP comes with some great looking artwork.

Track list:

  1. Divide
  2. Courage Breaker
  3. Linger
  4. Death Weight
