REVIEW: The Strzebonsky Noizescene – Redux EP

The Strzebonsky Noizescene – Redux EP

EP 2012 DIY

The Strzebonsky Noizescene is an alternative rock/noise duo from Belgium, mostly inspired by the Canadian dance/punk/rock/noise duo Death From Above 1979. They only use a bass and a drum enriched with some samples and a small synthesiser to create their music. They already released a first EP in 2011 called ‘I think We’re On To Something’.

Although I’m not a big fan of electronics, I’m certainly impressed by the power and the energy coming from this EP, created by the noisy bass, the pounding drums and the minimum of punk inspired vocals. I even don’t mind the electronics but I’m not a big fan of the last track ‘Noize Reduction’ which has too much Drum&Bass and Dubstep elements to my taste. 7/10

Track list:

1. Prelude II

2. What You Want To Hear

3. Emerald Eyes

4. Dahlia

5. Noize Reduction
