MCD 2014 DIY

This Kid is an Antwerp based metal band who in 2012 released a full album called ‘Covering The Tracks’. At the end of last year they released their latest EP ‘Stitches’ produced by Ace Zec (Diablo Blvd, Spoil Engine, The Setup). This Kid was founded by drummer Gerben and vocalist Steven in May 2010 and plays metal influenced by bands as Killswitch Engage, Thrice, Refused, Rage Against The Machine and The Bronx (influences taken from the bands facebook page).

Now, about this EP, it offers five catchy modern metal songs, the sound is heavy but offers a lot of melody. There is a nice variation in structure and sound and both screams and clean vocals are being used. In a way I can describe it as a blend of nu-metal and metal core with a high amount of Killswitch Engage. ‘Stitches is for the fans of modern heavy music. 7.5/10

Track list:
1.Never Better
2. The Cause
3. Like Cannibals
4. Liquid Shelter
5. Wisenheimer
