Germany based hardcore band Sharptongue has recently released their début album ‘Bad Blood / Sleeping Soul’ digitally through

‘Bad Blood / Sleeping Soul’ is overall an angry and brutal assault on your ears. Certainly the first part of the album is a real slap in the face with some aggressive metalcore. Also this first part is a bid too much of the same. It misses some diversity to my taste and I almost felt like skipping the rest of the album.

Luckily, towards the end of the album, starting somewhere in the middle, the sound becomes more divers. Still brutal and full of anger but it all gets a bid darker. Also some melancholy is added. So the second part of this album is richer in variations and sound and therefore more interesting.

‘Bad Blood / Sleeping Soul’ started out as mediocre metalcore but they grabbed the bull by the horns towards the end. 7/10
