REVIEW: Papa Roach – F.E.A.R.

PapaRoach_FEAR_Cover_1576x1576Papa Roach – F.E.A.R.
CD 2015 Eleven Seven Music / Warner ADA

I have to admit that when Papa Roach released their breakthrough album ‘Infest’ in 2000 I shouted along with their hit single ‘Last Resort’. The early 2000s was the nu-metal era with bands as Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Slipknot, … breaking through. I even have most of those albums at home and looking back, it is kind of a guilty pleasure.

15 years after ‘Infest’ Papa Roach release their 8th studio album F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise) and they consider it their most infectious, invigorating, and incendiary body of work to date. To be honest after ‘Infest’ I lost interest in Papa Roach and most of the nu-metal bands. Listening to F.E.A.R will not re-initiate my interest in the band. F.E.A.R. certainly contains elements from their 2000 sound (Gravity) which makes me want to mosh my living room nu-metal style but overall it is some dull rock music played by adult guys stuck in their teens. 6/10
