REVIEW: Cancer Bats – Searching for Zero

cb_searchingforzero1400Cancer Bats – Searching for Zero
LP 2015 Noise Church Records | BMG Rights

Toronto-based rock band Cancer Bats released their fifth studio LP ‘Searching for Zero’ on March 9th, 2015 on their own imprint, Noise Church Records. The album is produced by Ross Robinson known for his work with At The Drive-In, Slipknot, The Cure, Sepultura and Glassjaw.

With ‘Searching For Zero’ Cancer Bats have delivered a varied, strong and heavy sounding rock album. ‘Searching for zero is a raging album that offers the perfect hybrid of haunting rock, dark and doomy sounding metal, pounding screamo core and furious punk. Listening to ‘Searching for Zero’ makes me wonder at times if I’m listening to a Cancer Bats record or that I ended up at a black Sabbath Tribute show seeing Turbonegro jamming with Refused. 8/10
