REVIEW: Blackhour – Sins Remain

BlackhourArtworkBandcampBlackhour – Sins Remain
CD 2016 Transcending Obscurity Distribution

I receive a lot of promos from the From the in 2005 est. Transcending Obsurity. It is an entity that operates primarily as a PR company, music publishing company and started off as an online magazine (ad-free) to promote deserving underground talent from around the world. The label has a sub-label called Transcending Obscurity India and distribution features for both international and Indian bands. Most of their (death metal) releases aren’t my thing but If you want to broaden your metal collection with bands from India, Pakistan, … bands you should check it out.

One of the promos they send me that I found very interesting is ‘Sins Remain’ from Blackhour, a Pakistan heavy metal band with a divers sound. On Sins Remain, they bring a more then decent metal sound inspired by more melodic heavy metal and hardrock. ‘Wind Of Change’ even has an Iron Maiden vibe going.

This ‘Sins Remain’ has a lot to offer and has elements that will appeal to the fans of classic heavy metal, powerful metal ballads, speed metal and hardrock. 8/10

Track list:
1. Losing Life
2. Wind Of Change
3. Life Brings Death, Love Brings Misery
4. Battle Cry
5. Sins Remain
